Holy Cross set the standard in Patriot League women's basketball
ever since the conference was formed in 1990, winning 11 regular
season championships in 17 seasons. The Crusaders' dominance over
American has been equally impressive. Entering this season, Holy
Cross had lost to the Eagles just twice in 15 meetings. The
Crusaders also were the team that beat American in the conference
tournament final a year ago, denying the Eagles their first trip to
the NCAA tournament.
