For some athletes, winning a district championship is a priceless
experience. For Rock Bridge senior Mike Petrik, it cost him about a
day's pay.
With winter weather holding up the boys portion of the Class 5
District 10 Tournament at Rock Bridge gym for two days, the top-
seeded and seventh-ranked Bruins were forced to play two afternoon
games this weekend during Petrik's prime working hours as a video
clerk at Gerbes.
"I'm missing a paycheck because of this," Petrik joked.
Petrik's teammates, especially 6-foot-8 junior Jordan Dressler,
made it worth his expense.
Dressler had a game-high 16 points, 14 rebounds and four blocks
to lead the Bruins to their third straight district championship ...
