Article: 1:36 p.m.: Cal State San Bernardino recognizes outstanding professor

SAN BERNARDINO - Cal State San Bernardino psychology professor Yuchin Chien was "ambushed" while teaching her experimental psychology class last week in what has become a sort of tradition at the university.

The ambush was actually a surprise to let Chien know she has been named Cal State's 2008 Outstanding Professor.

"I am still trying very hard to recover from the big surprise 'Chinese New Year and Valentine's Day gift' I received from the 'ambush team,'" said Chien, who learned about the award Thursday. "I was very surprised that I was named the ... Outstanding Professor of 2008."
