Article: Monahan seeks to set record straight

George H. Monahan is no longer a candidate for mayor, but he still wants to maintain his good name.

Monahan on Monday released a copy of his Navy discharge papers, known to everyone who has served in the armed forces as a DD-214, which states that he attended the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.

His attendance became an issue in his losing primary campaign against Democratic Mayor John M. Picard, when opponents claimed that Monahan did not attend the academy, and the academy could find no records for him.
