Phoenix -- Tony Gwynn Jr. has his sights set on stealing Mike
Cameron's job at some point, and not just for the first 25 games of
the season.
Gwynn lost his chance to be the Milwaukee Brewers' everyday
centerfielder when the Brewers signed Cameron to a free-agent deal
over the winter. But that hasn't taken the fight out of the 25-year-
old Gwynn.
"You've got to go out and play hard, no matter what the
circumstances are," Gwynn said. "It's got to be the same as if I
were playing every day. The work ethic, everything has to be the
same.
"I don't think it's going to be a problem for me."
It certainly wasn't a problem for Gwynn in the Brewers' two
intrasquad games this week. He stole two hits ...
