Article: NIU graffiti brings out ISU police

NORMAL - Officials increased the police presence on Illinois State University's campus Thursday in response to threatening graffiti found the prior night.

But ISU Police Chief Ronald Swan said there was no indication the vandalism, which threatened a school shooting, constituted a legitimate threat.

"We always try to take an aggressive and a proactive approach, not predicated just on this incident but always," Swan said. "It's a sad commentary on American society, but I think the entire U.S. is on edge."
