Article: Stephens College a vital part of our community

Because Stephens College has played an important part in the history of Columbia, I knew at some point I would write an article about it guided by the theme: "What Stephens has done for Columbia."

Who could write about Stephens College and not relate the enormous contributions of James M. Wood - president from 1912 to 1946 - in developing and guiding Stephens into the great institution it has become? And today we see the wonderful things Wendy Libby is accomplishing in bringing Stephens forward to match its former glory days.
