Aaron Rowand arrives at the ballpark five or six hours before
every night game, which makes him somewhat of a throwback. Or, if you
prefer, a nerd.
Rowand's pregame routine goes something like this: a soak in the
hot tub to loosen up his muscles, followed by a session in the video
room (where he breaks down his at-bats from the previous game),
followed by a long visit to the indoor batting cage.
About the time Rowand is finishing up his indoor batting session,
most of his teammates are arriving at the ballpark. And Rowand is
counting down the minutes until team batting practice starts.
