Not even the snowbirds could avoid the wintry weather this year.
A warm fall turned suddenly frosty and now the colored lights and
evergreens rise up from glossy sheets of icy snow in Connecticut. We
took a quick tour (via newsvoyager.com) to other communities to see
how the holiday season was playing out around the country.
A--The Toys for Tots collection was extended in York, Maine,
because of slow collections this year. Missing were gifts for older
kids (young teens), who are a tough age group to satisfy unless you
can afford a Wii gaming system.
A--A 10-year tradition at St. Paul's by-the-Sea in Ocean City,
Md., sees about 100 volunteers serve a NOEL dinner to the needy. The
