Planning board gets a longtime Quincy official ; Sullivan appoints members of zoning, planning boards

Quincy planning board chairman and longtime member Robert Harnais has resigned to join Braintree's new planning board.

Harnais, who lives in Braintree, is among the appointments Mayor Joseph Sullivan has made to both the planning board and zoning board of appeals.

"It is an honor to be appointed to the Braintree planning board," Harnais, an attorney, said Friday.

Harnais, who has been chairman of the Quincy planning board for the past five years, said it was a tough decision to leave.

"I know that it is exciting times for Quincy and I know that Mayor (Thomas) Koch through his leadership will not only meet but exceed the plans and goals for Quincy and the downtown center," Harnais ...
