Article: Report blasting Aramark food service just 'speculation,' company contends?

NEW HAVEN -- The Service Employees International Union and UNITE HERE released a joint report Wednesday, part of a mounting campaign to rid city schools of Aramark Corp.

The Philadelphia-based company handles school food service and maintenance, but has come under fire from unions here and nationally.

The 14-page union report accuses Aramark of "ballooning deficits, mismanaged contracts and poor oversight," and alleges food quality has deteriorated under Aramark.

Aramark spokeswoman Kristine Grow defended the company against the claims, saying "the report itself admits that its contents are mainly speculation. There is little fact-based information." She ...
