PRINCE GEORGE -- As the conversion of the old Prince George
County Courthouse into the Prince George Regional Heritage Center
nears its June 21 opening date, it received a boost Feb. 29 when the
Bank of Southside Virginia decided to sponsor one of the museum's
galleries.
Peter Clements, president and chief executive officer of BSV, and
Tommy Buren, executive vice president, presented Carol Marks Bowman,
executive director of the Prince George County Historical Society
with $12,000 to sponsor an exhibit about rural banks. The exhibit
will be located in the front of the building.
"That's very exciting because that's where the bank was," Bowman
said.
