Article: City residents in line for discounts?

Lincoln city residents could be given discounts on certain council services under new plans drawn up by councillors.

City residents would be given a citizen's card giving them a discount on services such as parking, leisure centres and libraries.

On the other hand this would mean people living outside Lincoln could be charged more.

The Labour Party believes that Lincoln residents are already being squeezed with their tax bills for council services.

Party chiefs say it is now time for people who come into the city everyday to work and shop to stump up a little more in recognition of the strains they put on council services.
