SHEFFIELD Wednesday winger Jermaine Johnson became the latest
player to suffer at the hands of referee Andy D'Urso last night when
he was controversially sent off against West Bromwich Albion at
Hillsborough.
Johnson was red-carded in the 76th minute for allegedly swinging
an elbow at Albion skipper Jonathan Greening.
Owls manager Brian Laws was incensed by the decision and stormed
onto the pitch to protest with both D'Urso and his assistants.
Significantly, Greening was only booked for retaliation despite
clearly grabbing Johnson by the throat.
The 10 men of the Owls were then unable to hold on for a point
and when Albion substitute Kevin Phillips headed a winner deep into
stoppage time it ...
