Chadian president denies arresting opposition leaders
PARIS, March 7 (Xinhua) -- Chadian President Idriss Deby Itno has
once again reiterated that neither the Chadian army nor the
Presidential Guards unit had arrested opposition figures in the
country following a failed rebel offensive against his government in
February.
"Neither Yorongar nor Ibni Oumar had been arrested by the army,"
said the Chadian head of state in a Thursday night interview with
the France 24 television channel in the capital N'Djamena.
The Chadian president was speaking only hours after Ngarlejy
Yorongar, one of the three opposition leaders who went missing
shortly after the end of the Feb. 2 and 3 offensive, expressed ...
