Chadian president denies arresting opposition leaders

PARIS, March 7 (Xinhua) -- Chadian President Idriss Deby Itno has once again reiterated that neither the Chadian army nor the Presidential Guards unit had arrested opposition figures in the country following a failed rebel offensive against his government in February.

"Neither Yorongar nor Ibni Oumar had been arrested by the army," said the Chadian head of state in a Thursday night interview with the France 24 television channel in the capital N'Djamena.
