Torbay Hospital hip and knee replacement patients are back on
their feet in record time thanks to some of the fastest recovery
times in the world.
The Torbay Orthopaedic Rapid Recovery programme was launched at
the start of this year, with an aim of reducing the average hospital
stay for a hip or knee replacement from seven to three days.
The first patients are now experiencing the benefits, claims the
hospital.
The Trauma and Orthopaedic unit team are offering new information
packs for patients, using best practice from across the globe.
It gives patients detailed information about the steps from
referral to treatment, the way the joint is replaced and practical
