New council van fleet on road to nowhere

They are brand new and ready for use - but these council vans are going nowhere.

A fleet of about 30 vans are sitting idle at Aberdeen City Council's Cattofield depot in Kittybrewster.

They are believed to have been there for a month.

The vans are in the new council colours of white, rather than yellow, and while they have red and yellow hatchings on the back, do not yet carry any city council logos .

They are to be used by council craftworkers from both Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire councils, such as joiners, plumbers and maintenance workers.

The vans are being fitted with racks and equipment, as well as security systems.
