Assistant manager Kevin Summerfield believes he knows the secret
to success for Argyle when they take on the Iron tonight - wearing
white shorts.
The Pilgrims lost four successive away games in late December and
January in their yellow and green second strip.
So boss Paul Sturrock and the equally superstitious Summerfield
decided action had to be taken to improve Argyle's away results -
and the answer they came up with was white shorts.
So far it's worked a treat, yielding 1-0 successes at Leicester
and Southampton before they were forced to switch back to green in
their game at West Brom, a 3-0 defeat.
But with Scunthorpe having a home kit of claret and blue,
Plymouth can revert to white ...
