Article: No phone line due to low occupancy

WHAT do you do when your attempt to register a home phone line is thwarted because there aren't enough people living in your area?

This is the problem faced by YAI SAE KANG from Rawang who applied to Telekom Malaysia for a home phone line.

"I recently went to the TM branch in Rawang to apply for a phone line. However, I was taken aback when their staff told me that that they had no line as the population in my area, Taman Desa Mas Phase 2, is too small."

YAI was told that TM can only supply a phone line if more than half of the residential area is occupied.
