Article: 6th Circuit rules identity theft victim can't sue for invasion of privacy

An identify theft victim had no invasion of privacy claim against a clerk of courts who published a traffic citation containing her Social Security number and other personal information on the Internet, the 6th Circuit has ruled in dismissing the complaint.

A year after the plaintiff received a speeding ticket she discovered the citation had been published on the local clerk of court's website. The published data included her Social Security number, full name, address and birth date.
