An identify theft victim had no invasion of privacy claim against
a clerk of courts who published a traffic citation containing her
Social Security number and other personal information on the
Internet, the 6th Circuit has ruled in dismissing the complaint.
A year after the plaintiff received a speeding ticket she
discovered the citation had been published on the local clerk of
court's website. The published data included her Social Security
number, full name, address and birth date.
An identity thief had already used the information to create
false identification and the plaintiff learned of the website
publication when two retail stores reported suspicious purchases by
someone using her ...
