KETTERING -- It took a little arm-twisting to get Jennifer Grady
to slip on her first pair of bowling shoes.
"My friends made me," Grady said. "I had never bowled -- ever --
and I never thought I'd get good at it."
Grady, 17, has come a long way from a reluctant eighthgrader in
the Saturday morning youth league to an Ohio state bowling champion.
The Kettering Fairmont High School senior breezed past the
competition with a 730 series to capture the girls individual state
title at Tiki Lanes in Lancaster on March 1.
Second-place finisher Kelsey Zumfelde of Napoleon trailed Grady
by 65 pins with a 665.
"My first game, I always bowl a good game but then I mess up,"
