Last night the curtain went up on the Shiphay Amateur Dramatic
Society production of Tom Stoppard's farce 'On The Razzle'.
Alan Tanner stars as Zangler, a shopkeeper trying to prevent
his niece, played by Kersten James, from eloping with her lover.
Zangler's fiancee, played by Pat Gillies, runs a shop of her own in
Vienna, leaving Zangler little option but to leave his staff of two
in charge of his business as he tries to set a date for the wedding.
However, Weinberl and Christopher have other ideas, closing the
shop for the afternoon to go on the razzle in Vienna themselves.
With Zangler's niece and lover also heading for Vienna, a farce is
quick to develop.
