David Wells in his appraisal of the Town Team plans for the
Queensway states: 'It is now considerable time since the
unacceptably high risk was identified'.
Sterling words, but they beg the question if such a high risk to
the public has existed for so long, why did the Conservative group
not deal with it during their four years in control of the council?
Perhaps it was a peculiar sense of priority, a lack of courage, a
lack of concern over public safety or maybe a lack of cash.
I consider it to be the latter and David Wells should have
prevailed upon his fellow Tories to desist from removing from the
Highways budget, an estimated pounds400,000 over the past four
years, in order to get votes ...
