Rarely seen in New England, the work of 21 contemporary Latin-
American artists is on view at Wheaton College in Norton through
April 10.
In "Correspondences: Contemporary Art from the Coleccin Patricia
Phelps de Cisneros," the artists express themselves through drawing
and interpretations of the act of drawing. The 36 works include a
series of photographs, a collection of stuffed horses, and wall of
colorful lines of tape.
"By and large, people in this country are not familiar with
contemporary Latin-American art," said Ann Murray, director of the
galleries and professor of art at Wheaton College. "Some of the
pieces are just beautiful to look at and others are very playful.
