Joseph Siwula has served as an Everson councilman for almost
three months but may have to quit in order to keep his job as the
borough's code enforcement officer.
In February, an incompatibility issue involving Siwula serving on
council and working as code enforcement officer surfaced. He has
worked as code enforcement officer for about 12 years.
Council President Mike Banaszak said since the last meeting he
has contacted the Pennsylvania State Association of Boroughs to find
an answer, and Solicitor Mark Rowan has done research, but neither
inquiry provided a clear answer.
