A 15-year-old was shot and killed early Sunday on a street in
Northeast Washington near where he had been living with a
grandmother, according to D.C. police and the youth's brother.
The slain youth was identified as Ryan Travon Harris, and police
said he lived in the 3300 block of Buchanan Street in Mount Rainier.
Residents of the Fort Lincoln neighborhood said, however, that he
spent much of his time there with his grandmother, and his brother,
Roderick Harris, said the two of them were living in Fort Lincoln
with the grandmother.
D.C. police said Ryan Harris was found shortly after 2 a.m. in
the 3100 block of Apple Road, a stone's throw from where neighbors
said his grandmother lived.
