DAYTON -- A season of firsts didn't result in the first NCAA
tournament berth for the University of Dayton women's basketball
team. However, the Flyers learned late Monday, March 17, that they
had been selected for the Women's National Invitation Tournament.
They play at Bowling Green on Thursday, time to be announced.
"I kind of feel like getting in (to the NCAA) was a longshot. I'm
very proud of what we've done this year," Dayton coach Jim Jabir
said.
The UD-Bowling Green winner draws Michigan State in the next
round Saturday, March 22.
