Article: Crews discover life jacket off Pescadero beach

PESCADERO -- A child's life jacket was pulled from the water off Pescadero State Beach on Wednesday, but officials are unsure whether it is linked to a fatal sailing accident over the weekend.

The orange life jacket was pulled from the ocean about

1,000 yards offshore, said Dan Temko, harbormaster at Pillar Point Harbor.

Temko said three harbor vessels were sent out to retrieve the jacket at about 9:15 a.m. A Coast Guard helicopter joined the search.

Because of where the life jacket was found, "we assume that it may have been associated" with the wreck of the Daisy, a 31-foot sailboat that disappeared Saturday during a race near the Golden Gate Bridge, Temko said.
