Article: Edgerly set to leave Oakland city administrator post

OAKLAND -- City Administrator Deborah Edgerly said she has two dates posted in her office at City Hall: July 31 and Dec. 31.

On one of those days, she said, she plans to retire.

"I'm just trying to get a few

more things done," she said. "I've never made no bones about the fact that five years is a long time to be in this job."

Rumors about Edgerly leaving City Hall have been swirling for months. They were stoked in January when Mayor Ron Dellums sent letters to department heads and Edgerly asking to meet one-on-one to discuss goals and help him weigh what changes, including possible personnel moves, were needed.
