Half a century ago, test pilot Duncan Simpson took a Hawker
Hunter jet fighter on its maiden flight. Next month, he will be back
in the cockpit for a ceremony at Exeter International Airport to
mark the occasion
The 50th anniversary of the first flight of this Hawker Hunter
jet fighter. is being marked at Exeter Airport next month.
Hawker's test pilot Duncan Simpson flew the aircraft on its very
first flight on April 17, 1958, and Duncan is set to return to the
airport this April 17 to mark the occasion.
He will be joined by a number of other distinguished pilots and
the aircraft will put on a flying display.
