Beverley: Town councillors want a public inquiry into two major
schemes approved by East Riding Council.
Beverley Town Council is writing to the Government asking the
Secretary of State to "call in" the applications for a retail park
at Grovehill and a mixed-use development at the former Clariant site
in Flemingate.
Both schemes have to be referred to the Government before they
are given the go-ahead because of the scale of the Flemingate scheme
and because East Riding owns the Grovehill site.
Town councillor Matt Snowden said: "We want to make sure the
schemes are definitely called in by Government Office.
