By name alone, the Kinky White Ball holds the promise of a
bacchanalia, a throwback perhaps to the drunken toga parties popular
on '60s college campuses, but it's not as perverse as the billing
might suggest.
The event, slated for tonight at the Navy Pier Grand Ballroom,
will feature Kinky, one of the most celebrated bands on the
alternative Latin scene. The White Ball also will showcase the DJs
Lego, Dave Moreno and Control, and a performance by local dance
troupe Latin Rhythm. Part of the proceeds will benefit Radio Arte,
the student-run broadcast program of the Mexican Fine Arts Center
