Article: Man lay dead for weeks, say Tories ; PROTEST: Concerned calls to Sandwell Homes 'ignored'

A MAN whose body was discovered in a Wednesbury flat may have been dead for weeks, it was revealed today.

Father and daughter Tory councillors Bill Archer and Elaine Costigan today demanded an investigation, claiming they made repeated calls to Sandwell Homes after neighbours raised concerns.

The body of 52-year-old Peter McGowen, a life member of Wednesbury Conservative Club, was found at his flat in Manor Gardens yesterday morning.

Black Country coroner's officer Arthur Burgess said the body was decomposing and Mr McGowen had been dead for some time.

"We have been told that the last time Mr McGowen was seen alive was about a month ago.

"He has certainly been dead for a while."
