Ruth Carey has spent most of her life feeling unwell and drained of energy.

Right from early childhood, when she recalls being a sickly youngster and a fussy eater, the Keynsham mother-of-two says she seemed to pick up every bug that was going.

As an adult, her weight fluctuated enormously. At times in her life she was very skinny, at others she found it impossible to shift extra pounds.

She was often tired to the point of exhaustion and suffered from abdominal pain, bloating, diarrhoea, joint pain and mouth ulcers.
