Golden wedding anniversary couple John and Avril Newman just
can't keep away from Brixham.
Not only did they spend their honeymoon at the Quayside Hotel in
1958, they came back for their silver wedding anniversary and again
for their golden wedding anniversary celebrations.
"We love the view," said Avril, 69. "It's lovely first thing in
the morning when the sun hits the cottages on the Furzeham side of
the harbour.
"The boats here are in constant motion and there's always plenty
to look at."
John, 71, a retired builder and company director from Farnham in
Surrey, says Torbay has never lost its appeal.
