Tom's family paid tribute to their fun-loving son, who never
complained about his illness.
The former Whitgift and Macaulay School pupil aspired to be a
film-maker and claimed third prize in the Meniscus film festival
three years ago for a film he had made with a friend.
Dad Mike said: "He loved being behind the camera and that was
what he wanted to do.
"He fell ill just as they had nearly finished the film, but they
managed to complete it.
"He never once asked why him. I did, but he didn't.
"Knowing this was going to happen hasn't made it any easier. He
