When a press release arrived the other day about a store re-
opening in Hype Park, we had a good laugh. Later in the press
release, Hyde Park regained its name (though it wasn't called the
People's Republic, which it occasionally is).
Other local names lend themselves nicely to this treatment.
Bark Forest, say, or Oat Park (though it's the kind of place that
would spell it Haut).
Or sounding like they belong on a twin bill at Metro, Downers
Groove and La Grunge.
We've got the home of the owls, Arlington Hoots, and the coldest
suburb around, Brr Ridge.
OK, enough. Office Depot revamped its store near 55th and Lake
Park, so if you want to see what an M2 format store looks like, drop
