Vietnam not to increase petroleum retail price before June

HANOI, March 24 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam will not increase retail prices of petroleum products before June, in a move to curb inflation, local newspaper Vietnam News reported Monday.

The country will also keep petroleum import tax at zero percent, the paper quoted Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung as saying.

The government will compensate petroleum importers' losses and offer assistance to the poor, residents in remote areas and offshore fishermen who are facing difficulties, he said.
