ORRVILLE -- The Orrville/Dalton YMCA will join with more than 1,700 YMCAs nationwide on April 12 for the 17th annual YMCA Healthy Kids Day.

Designed as an opportunity for kids and their families to "Put Play in Their Day," the event uses free, fun, engaging and creative activities "to encourage children and families to adopt behaviors that support a healthy lifestyle," said local coordinator Mistie Ankenman.

New this year, Ankenman said, will be the launch of Healthy Family Home resources, made possible by Eli Lilly and Company.

YMCA Healthy Kids Day and Healthy Family Home exemplify Activate America, the YMCA's response to the nation's growing health crisis.
