Article: 3:52 p.m.: Girl Scouts to launch New Girl Scout Leadership Experience in fall

When the Girl Scout movement was founded in this country in 1912, girls learned homemaking skills and played basketball behind a curtain so boys could not see their ankles.

Times have changed, and girls can pretty much do whatever they want.

So in the fall, Girl Scouts of the USA will launch the New Girl Scout Leadership Experience, designed to expand leadership opportunities for girls ages 6 to 17.

Area scout councils are following suit.
