A Robber who escaped from a prison van enabling him to take part
in a bank raid with machetes has been jailed for 12 years.
Aaron Williams, 22, is the last of five robbers to plead guilty
to stealing pounds69,500 from the Nationwide Building Society in
Market Place, Pocklington, on March 28, last year.
Williams, of Damask Avenue, Salford, has been jailed up for 12
years after admitting conspiracy to rob and escape at Hull Crown
Court.
Judge Simon Jack said: "It was carried out professionally with
advance planning.
"The robbers wore balaclavas and a machete was used. That must
have been absolutely terrifying for the security guard."
