Janine Grassel, Greenfield, sent a recipe for French silk pie for
Pat Woida, Greenfield, who lost a recipe that included eggs, butter,
melted chocolate and sugar.
Grassel wrote: "The recipe Pat Woida is looking for is one I make
quite often except I call it 'cardiac bypass pie' because of the
ingredients. I use any kind of crust, my own or one purchased from
the store. The recipe was actually found years ago by my son in an
old Better Homes and Gardens cookbook. This pie always brings out
the oohs and aaahs whenever served."
Janine's French Silk Pie
Makes 8 to 10 servings
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter, room temperature
3 squares (3 ounces) unsweetened chocolate, melted, cooled
