A plymouth school has raised pounds200 for a Devon donkey
sanctuary, after the furry friends paid pupils a visit.
Lipson Vale Primary School had a visit from the Donkey Sanctuary,
near Sidmouth, before Christmas when Joseph, Springy, Dixie and
Cocoa impressed the children.
Pupils enjoyed the visit so much they then raised pounds200 by
holding a mufti day at the school.
They have now handed over a cheque to the Donkey Sanctuary.
Teacher Marie Pritchard said: "Just before Christmas the donkey
sanctuary brought four donkeys to the school.
"Joseph, Springy, Dixie and Cocoa were impeccably behaved and let
all the Foundation and Key Stage One children stroke, groom and ...
