Either your waistbands have mysteriously shrunk a size or weeks of
dining on cheese balls and chocolate truffles have caught up with
you.
Suddenly, the infomercials for abdominal belts promising to zap
you into a stronger, leaner body using electrical muscle stimulation
(EMS) are much more intriguing.
"Just 10 minutes with Fast-Abs is equivalent to up to 600 sit-
ups," boasts the commercial announcer.
"Get firm abs without breaking a sweat," say the ads for the Ab
Energizer. "No pain. No work. No sit-ups." But fitness experts say
the only thing that's assured of getting thinner by using one of
these belts is your wallet.
