MARINA DEL REY. Federal officers pick civilian hero. LOS ANGELES. MARINA DEL REY. Federal officers pick civilian hero The Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association on Saturday named a Marina del Rey woman "Civilian of the Year" for sheltering a wounded U.S. deputy marshal and his partner.

Jeanne Therese Gallogly offered her apartment as refuge whenthe two marshals came under attack while trying to arrest afugitive in a nearby unit on Nov. 20, 2000, said Deputy U.S. Marshal Chris Daniels, who was caught up in the shooting. "We were able to get out of the line of fire by going intoher apartment," Daniels said.

Deputy U.S. Marshal Larry Gloth was hit in an artery in his arm, he said.
