Los Angeles may get 2nd chance to quarterback an NFL deal

The last time the nation's second-largest city tried to woo an NFL football team, it ended in disaster. The proposed stadium location was a moving target, shifting from Carson to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and finally, in a last-ditch salvage effort, to a racetrack in Inglewood.

Politicians and business leaders quarreled over each proposal and the use of taxpayer subsidies. Inthe end, Houston swept in with a stunning $700 millionfranchise bid -- leaving Los Angeles once again without a team.
