Thursday wasn't a particularly prosperous period for former Dayton
disciples. Johnny Davis, who played for the Flyers from '73
to '76, was fired as Magic coach hours after the team's sixth
straight setback.
After a 13-6 jump-start, Orlando has batted .400 (18-for-45), nice
numbers for the frozen fraternity of Walt Disney and Ted Williams,
but tough to justify when you're wearing a suit on the sidelines. Who
knew Doc Rivers was this tough of an act to follow?
Meanwhile, Jim O'Brien, who coached the Flyers from '89 to '94, is
in serious jeopardy of joining Davis in Orlando's new theme park
(Unemployment Land) if his offensive and defensive system isn't
