Baker, owner don't seem on the same page

Baseball sources indicate the face of the NL West is about to change.

The World Series ended Sunday. Dusty Baker's contract with the San Francisco Giants expires in 10 days.

The animosity between owner Peter Magowan and Baker has reached the point where those close to both men do not feel the damage can be repaired.

Heading into the final weekend of the World Series, Baker was asked if he needed to clear the air with Magowan.

"I didn't know the air was polluted, number one," said Baker. "Number two, if it was going to be cleared, we are waiting kind of late to clear it."
