Article: Missouri Supreme Court ends suit over clergy abuse

The state Supreme Court has ended a man's lawsuit claiming sexual abuse by a member of the clergy, saying the time in which to file suit had expired.

Robert Visnaw sued in 2006, claiming former Marianist Brother William Mueller sexually abused him while he was a senior at St. John Vianney High School in Kirkwood in 1984 and 1985.

The Marianist Province, which runs the high school, sought summary judgment in St. Louis County Circuit Court, saying the statute of limitations to file suit had passed in 1993, or five years after Visnaw turned 21.
