Re "School considers elite program" (Monitor Local & State page,
March 27):
Your article about Bow failed to mention that Merrimack Valley
School District is investigating the International Baccalaureate
Diploma Programme too. However, we are looking at applying the
program system-wide - from elementary to high school - in an effort
to introduce rigor into the curriculum. Our test scores,
particularly at the middle school level, are not where we want them
to be. We see a need to improve our methods.
Merrimack Valley has been examining the IB program for nearly a
year. IB is not just for advanced students, although at Merrimack
